Bloodbath journal wants to platform emerging and established poets based in Aotearoa New Zealand. Born out of a love for the gothic, the macabre and the grotesque, bloodbath seeks to challenge existing dogma and press forward into new - and dangerous - pastures.

Bloothbath is a journal which is connected to the roots of this whenua. Its founder is a proud tangata tiriti and takes that responsibility seriously. As such, bloodbath will make particular effort to honour te tiriti and equitably platform the voices of tangata whenua. This publication is also one which celebrates the freedom and liberation of the Palestinian and Ukrainian people.

ted greensmith-west (he/him) is the founder of bloodbath journal. his whakapapa is from proud lancastrian and leicestershire stock. he is an environmental lawyer and poet based in tāmaki makaurau auckland , who grew up on muaūpoko ki ōtākau the otago peninsula. his work can be found in places such as the spinoff, cordite review, poetry aotearoa yearbook 2023 and 2025 afterburn and breath, bad apple, overcom, blackmail press, new zealand poetry society anthologies kissing a ghost and alarm & longing.
