Submissions for Vol. III: Wiggen are OPEN

Guidelines:

• 3 previously unpublished poems.

• 1 single word document, with each poem on a new page.

• A brief bio of no more than 30 words (within the body of the email - not the attachment).

• Email to bloodbathjournal@gmail.com by 11:59am, 31 October 2026.

• Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us immediately if your poem is chosen elsewhere.

  A note on content:

• When our volumes are themed (i.e., “Hearts of Darkness”, or “Wiggen”) we are looking for your original interpretation on a deliberately broad theme. We are looking for work which has clearly been written in response to the prompt.

• While we may be a gothic inspired journal, we are not exclusive. The most successful pieces play with gothic or horror themes rather than fully adopting them. Or, they are clearly steeped in a tradition far older and darker… we are drawn to work which explores a multifacet of human experiences: grief, horror, love, betrayal, vengeance…

• At the end of the day, we want your very best work. Revel in your work. Send us those things which keep you up at night and the quiet little obsessions which furrow your brow and crease the synapses of your brain.
